Spring has been a symbol of new growth, warmth, blooming, and life itself – therefore a spring wedding embraces these meanings and incorporates them into the ritual of binding love. Seasoned wedding planners know that spring is the busiest wedding season. However, this does not mean that your wedding cannot be unique…in fact there are so many ways to make your wedding fun, fresh and memorable for everyone, especially with fashion!
The best way to pick a wedding dress is to choose one that reflects your personality – are you a little bit out of the box? Perhaps a wedding dress of shorter length would suit you most. If you want something a bit more untraditional, this spring many brides will be foregoing the customary white dress for dresses in shades such as blush, champagne, and even shades of blue. As for the details of the dress itself, there are some interesting new trends that are showing up in the world of wedding fashion. Laser-cut lace is a way to incorporate a traditional fabric with the modern technology of precision laser cutting. Other big trends you can expect to see include peplum style dresses, detailed backs, and vintage inspired styles.
Another great way to bring the spirit of spring into your ceremony is with your bridesmaid dresses. There are plenty of fresh, bright colors to choose from. Pantone, the world renowned authority on color, recently release their Spring 2013 Color Report based on the colors designers are using in their latest collections. If you need some ideas check out the below colors that will be big this spring, especially Emerald, which was announced as the 2013 Color of the Year.
While many spring brides choose short styles for their bridesmaids, it is by no means unacceptable to go with a long gown. There are beautiful longer styles that have a fresh feel such as this chiffon dress from the White by Vera Wang line at David’s Bridal. Choosing a bright color in a light fabric such as chiffon will definitely get across the spring feel.
When it comes to weddings in the spring, really the sky is the limit. Even though there are many weddings during the spring season, you can find plenty of ways to make yours stand out from the status quo. Take inspiration from the season around you and welcome your new life with a fresh perspective.
Lavender pairs perfectly with pear green. These soft, muted shades are classic and elegant, while the surprising color combination keeps this wedding modern. Pears are versatile decor and can be used as seating card holders or place settings. We also found delicious little pear-shaped favors, including candles and homemade jams. Accent this juicy color with soft shades of purple, like sprigs of lavender and chiffon bridesmaid dresses. Serve icy drinks made with pear-infused vodka and mix roasted pears into the salad course. Unexpected flower combinations are also a must: moss, white chrysanthemums, and desert succulents. So pretty!
